Task 1 You will now be asked a question about a familiar topic. After you hear the question, you will have 15 seconds to prepare your response and 45 seconds to speak.

解析：本题属于较有代表性的地点题，考生利用15秒的审题时间，首先应当确认的是我们要陈述的地点是哪里，其次才是它对我们来说有哪些重要性。那么，作为学生，经常能够去到的地方无外乎家、学校、图书馆、公园、商场、饭店、游乐场等地。其实，地点题作为托福口语考试第一部分较容易准备的方向，笔者建议，在能够选择大地点的条件下，尽量不要选择狭小封闭的空间。道理很简单，越小的地方，短时间内思考，可供我们陈述的细节就越少。相反，越大的地点，可说的东西就越丰富。那么，这样对比下来，城市和似乎就成为更好的选择。

第二步是陈述这个地方对于我们来说重要的原因。例如选择来陈述，我们能经常去某个的理由必然要先交代，比如好友在该国居住，我们经常去探访。其次，这个一定有能够吸引我们的风土民情或文化特质，比如饮食、书籍、景点、语言或者生活方式等。这样这道题的大体脉络就理清楚了。

Some college students choose to take courses in a variety of subject areas in order to get a broad education. Others choose to focus on a single subject area in order to have a deeper understanding of that area. Which approach to course selection do you think is better for students and why?

解析：本题属于第二部分较典型的双选项题，类别隶属于Education。考生们首先应当明确的是，双选项题，托福考试比较偏好的答题思路是单边，即有明确的观点和倾向。所以，考生在答题时，一定要铭记“切忌模棱两可”。在表明立场后，考生们需要做的就是给出具体理由或例证来证明自己的观点。原则上来说，双选项题不存在所谓的正确答案，所以，只要考生能立场鲜明，并自圆其说，都是考官喜欢的答案。为了使例证更有说服力，考生可以结合自己或身边人的生活或观察到的现象，如是，效果最佳。
