Identity Theft 身份盗窃

 

身份盗窃指有人未经你允许使用你的名字、信用卡号码等个人识别信息。身份盗窃者可能利用你的名字租赁一套公寓，或者办理信用卡。可能在你查阅信用报告时，才会发现信息被盗用。

Identity theft is serious. Victims spend hundreds of dollars and many days repairing damage to their good name and credit record. Some consumers victimized by identity theft may lose out on job opportunities, or be denied loans for education, housing because of negative information on their credit reports. In rare cases, they may even be arrested for crimes they did not commit.

身份盗窃是严重事件。受害者要花数百美元和很长时间来修补他们的好名声和信用纪录。有受害者因此失去工作机会，或因不良信誉而不被允许为教育和住房贷款。在极少情况下，他们会因没有犯过的罪行而被逮捕。
